EECMY has a motto of "serving the whole person" spiritually, physically and mentally in holistic approach development. With this plan, the church support children in difficult circumstances.

The center is part of the Children and Youth Care Program (CYCP) and belongs to Development And Social Service Commission (DASSC).

Financing

The work in our Center is based on the financial support by different Partners: Kindernothilfe (KNH), Liliane Foundation, Ambassador Spouses Group, Staub-Kaiser-Foundation, Behindertenhilfe für Äthiopien e.V. Tübingen, Christian Horizons, Embassies. In 2010 Fin Church Aid was replaced by The Church of Sweden.

The yearly budget (2007) was about 494.135,66 Ethiopian Birr (35.295 €,  Building project included). Out of this budget 75 % is support from KNH.

Especially thanks we want to give to Helmgart Bornhäuser who is a teacher in Germany and supports us in various way during the last years.

The Basargroup "Äthiopien" of the Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Jürgen, Lübeck, Germany supports us by money from its collection campaigns.

 

18 of our teachers took part in a two years summer curse at Sabeta Special Needs Training Institute. After exam 2007 the got their certificate of special education teaching. That training was supported by Christian Horizons.
