Agriculture as a field training

The Georg Kraus Stiftung supports the CMCC since 2011 with funding for the development of agriculture in the project area in Mekanissa. A five-year plan was drawn up, and brought the initial funding on the way.

In March 2012 people met by various actions to continue the project.

History of the project

Since 23 years

• Doris Bornhäuser (Dienste in Übersee) established 1986 the first class with 8 children in Kazanchis, Training of 6 teachers
• EECMY took over the responsibility
• Johanna Lehnert 1988 - 1992 (DÜ) started Early Care Program, 3 classes daily school
• Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) started in 1995
• Container classrooms in Kazanchis are not sufficing
• Erika Taraki (DÜ) 1993 - 2001, Center in Mekanissa 1995 with 6 new classrooms, Construction of life practical training courses with youth
• Adanech Mekonnen: Ethiopian Management starting from 2000

Christoph Schmidt (EED) has been working as consultant in the centre 2003-2010. His main focuses of the work was in Life and Work Skills Training, Early Care support, structural expansions, disign and production of teaching material and appliances for multi handycapped children.
