The school year
2011 ended with |
"Time to say goodbye" at the beginning of the rainy season. Christoph Schmidt finished his time working as advisor for the center after seven years. For that occasion his family (center of picture) was invited to have a special lunch together with the staff. |
At the beginning of 2010 Daniel has started his work in the workshop. He is preparing appliances for the children. Up to June he could get some advices from Christoph. |
Helmgart Bornhäuser has been not only a visitor to the center, she also introduced the technique how to prepare bag out of packing material. Selling that kind of bags in Germany she collected lots of money for the children of the center. |
"The work with pictures" was the main topic of workshops given by Doris Bornhäuser in March and April 2010. The teachers have learnt how to take pictures of the before discussed items and situations. After printing and laminating the results it was discussed how to use it in the lessons. |
Empty or full glass, big or small, laughing or crying: Pictures like that are used to support the speech development of the children. |
The "Open Class room" in the back has been inaugurated in January. The school garden in front is already prepared. Some apple trees were planted too. The building costs were a share of three stake holders: German Embassy, "Behindertenhilfe" and own contribution of the Center. |
The new class room building has no doors and windows. It offers protected space for different usage. Groups of visitors are meeting here and the pupils have a room for lunch and learning on fresh air. We are glad to have a big room for celebration too. |
